Chain 2 does not count as a stitch in this pattern
-
Always start next row in same stitch as Chain

When working in the round you can use a stitch marker in the first stitch to mark the start of a round. This may help you to keep track of your rows and to make sure you are slip stitching into the first stitch.
-
You can begin this pattern with a Foundation Double Crochet or with a row of chains and Double Crochet which ever you prefer

Like the Peace Sign applique on my Bulky Headband? Grab the details below to make one to add to your headband!
Make it in a super bulky like I did for a big cuddly applique that fits perfect on my Cuddly Headband or make it out of the yarn you are working with now so you can add it to your current project.
Supplies:
Yarn on any weight (I used a chunky yarn)
Hook that your yarn specifies ( I used a N-9.00mm)
Yarn needle for weaving in those ends
With base color create a magic circle.
Rnd 1: create 8 hdc in mc, sl st to top of 1st st, ch 1 (8)
Rnd 2: 2 hdc in each st, sl st to top of 1st ch, ch 1 (16)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in 1st st, sc in next st, repeat from * around (24)
With contrasting color attach to top of stitches in rnd 3 with sl st at bottom of circle.
Sl st in each st around, making a circle.
Then create a vertical line through the center of the circle to the top of sl sts, tie off and weave in ends.
Attach yarn with sl st again 4 st to the right of the bottom of the vertical line you just made and sl st at an angle up to the 5th sl st of the vertical line.
Then continue working across the vertical line at an angle to 4th st to the left of the circle.
Weave in ends and leave a length of yarn to attach it to your project.

I am going to do the minecraft afghan with your graphs and you said yours was 14″ and I started one and it is measuring 16″ I am using a I hook and red heart yarn. Is there a reason why it would be the size?

That would be your gauge. My stitches must be smaller than yours. You can either go down a hook size of you want to meet gauge or just continue and have a larger finished piece! 🙂
